Dráuzio Borges stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vicente Chaves's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. In the 29th minute Vicente Chaves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dráuzio Borges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 30 minutes into the game, Bandelocos's Roch Huchro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aloísio Vargas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 34 minutes into the match, Vicente Chaves notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Bandelocos's Dráuzio Borges. Dráuzio Borges was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roch Huchro got free with Aloísio Vargas in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With his leg Aloísio Vargas managed to avoid a goal in the 39thth minute, when Bandelocos's Roch Huchro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Joélson Chaves charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joélson Chaves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube booed when Bandelocos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joélson Chaves didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roch Huchro in the 59th minute of play forced Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Aloísio Vargas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Renatinho Linhares was substituted for Vicente Chaves. Dráuzio Borges made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Renatinho Linhares sent off a good shot on target. Gerardo Ibar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dráuzio Borges read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
