The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 9 minutes into the game, Celso Loreto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Goiás Esporte Clube the free kick. In the 9th match minute, ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celso Loreto to maneuver through the defense. In the 14th minute, Agustín Ruberto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mané Quirino was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Ruberto in the 18th minute of play. Christian Carioca hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Americo Senin charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Americo Senin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 26th match minute, ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Americo Senin to maneuver through the defense. Laércio de Souza kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Agustín Ruberto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mané Quirino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Osmar de Moraes in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Santiago Beltrán saved ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ from getting behind. Mané Quirino came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ's Agustín Ruberto. But to his dismay, Agustín Ruberto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After 36 played minutes Goiás Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Nilmar Secco. With a little luck, ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ's Santiago Beltrán got control of the ball when Christian Carioca tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Laércio de Souza fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Goiás Esporte Clube's protests and gave Laércio de Souza a yellow card for diving instead. In the 47th minute, Laércio de Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Agustín Ruberto to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Fernan Rius hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgard Cabral in the 56th minute of play forced ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ's goalkeeper Santiago Beltrán to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 59 minutes into the game, Edgard Cabral cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Santiago Beltrán was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 61st minute Edgard Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santiago Beltrán saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ's Agustín Ruberto in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Goiás Esporte Clube's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Agustín Ruberto in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mané Quirino saved Goiás Esporte Clube from getting behind. After a rather tough play, ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ's Agustín Ruberto got a free kick in the 75th minute. Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Goiás Esporte Clube from getting a goal against them. Mané Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Ruberto in the 87th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Agustín Ruberto managed to get in a good position for a shot. ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ's supporters rose to their feet, but Agustín Ruberto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mané Quirino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mané Quirino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Ruberto, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Goiás Esporte Clube succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ had controlled the match.
