The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Osmar de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erubiel Egun in the 6th minute of play forced Goiás Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Mané Quirino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erubiel Egun in the 12th minute of play. In the 14th match minute, MILAN COLOMBIANO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aquiles Bautista to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute, Andres Sidoro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diego Milito got free with Mané Quirino in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 22nd minute of the match MILAN COLOMBIANO got a corner. Goiás Esporte Clube's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Marcelo Costas ran over to the corner to take the kick. Marcelo Costas made a great header on MILAN COLOMBIANO's corner, it was just that Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino managed to reach the ball for a save. Mané Quirino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diego Milito in the 24th minute. Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ariel Tiadoro in the 26th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Erubiel Egun ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mané Quirino was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After a rather tough play, MILAN COLOMBIANO's Federico Muno got a free kick in the 31st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osmar de Moraes in the 32nd minute of play forced MILAN COLOMBIANO's goalkeeper Siro Cordarrell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes into the match Diego Milito climbed in front of goal and pressed up 2-0 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Mané Quirino. After a rather tough play, Goiás Esporte Clube's Christian Carioca got a free kick in the 37th minute. Mané Quirino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diego Milito in the 41st minute. In the 42nd minute MILAN COLOMBIANO were awarded a corner. Marcelo Costas went to the cornerflag to take it. With a little luck, Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino got control of the ball when Diego Milito tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edgard Cabral to strike the kick off in the second half. MILAN COLOMBIANO's Siro Cordarrell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christian Carioca in the 51st minute of play. In the last second Siro Cordarrell throw himself and got hold of the ball when Christian Carioca in the 51stth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erubiel Egun in the 53rd minute of play forced Goiás Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Mané Quirino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgard Cabral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Siro Cordarrell having to interfere. Federico Muno took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mané Quirino. Mané Quirino dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Mané Quirino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erubiel Egun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Siro Cordarrell made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Edgard Cabral sent off a good shot on target. Edgard Cabral received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Siro Cordarrell came out and tried to block the shot, but Edgard Cabral slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 64th minute. Siro Cordarrell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgard Cabral in the 67th minute of the match. MILAN COLOMBIANO's Armando Chago was substituted for Aquiles Bautista. After 71 played minutes Goiás Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Benigno Ixona. Christian Carioca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Siro Cordarrell made a huge save. Siro Cordarrell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osmar de Moraes in the 80th minute of the match. If Edgard Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ariel Tiadoro in the 83rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in MILAN COLOMBIANO's zone, Edgard Cabral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Siro Cordarrell came out of the goal and Edgard Cabral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to MILAN COLOMBIANO getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Marcelo Costas hit a great ball. In the 95th match minute, Goiás Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafa Pinho to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The MILAN COLOMBIANO fans cheered their team off the field, for while Goiás Esporte Clube had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
