The audience thought a goal was coming when Hernan Ruy got free with Santiago Beltrán in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

In the 75th minute Johan Kilman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santiago Beltrán saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Santiago Beltrán made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugo Sánchez in the 77th minute of play. Cristian Lorien made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Ruberto in the 79th minute of play. In the 81stth minute of the game Agustín Ruberto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sacro Balompié's Cristian Lorien was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hugo Sánchez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Santiago Beltrán tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 83 minutes into the game, Johan Kilman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Santiago Beltrán was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 87th minute, Danilo Cordarrell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Santiago Beltrán was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Cristian Lorien made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Ruberto in the 92nd minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, Hugo Sánchez notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ's Santiago Beltrán. Santiago Beltrán was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sacro Balompié's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
