Horea Iurașcu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stig-Arne Skålberg in the 22nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Evert Dahlqvist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Horea Iurașcu was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bartolo Giraldo to make the kick off. Horea Iurașcu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fredrik Axelsson's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Bartolo Giraldo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 79 minutes into the match, AIK FOTBOLL's Fredrik Axelsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Horea Iurașcu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bartolo Giraldo in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arne Kilström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fredrik Axelsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Arne Kilström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartolo Giraldo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bartolo Giraldo hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. In the 89th match minute, AIK FOTBOLL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stig-Arne Skålberg to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bartolo Giraldo in the 94th minute of play forced AIK FOTBOLL's goalkeeper Arne Kilström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of ≮Empire≯♈☭☭☭超越DU➼FC☭☭☭♈ booed when AIK FOTBOLL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olov Deckberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the AIK FOTBOLL players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
