In the 30th minute, Eliézer da Silveira reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gyula Grosics. The goal made the score 1-0. With a little luck, Castanheiro SC's Pedrinho Guimarães got control of the ball when Doğan Gayret tried to sneak it across the goal line. Castanheiro SC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
