In the 7th minute, Tomasz Gongola left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KKP Spasione Kocury fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Tomasz Gongola kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Eugeniusz Brack came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Nagyváradi AC's László Márton. But to his dismay, László Márton quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Gyula Grosics made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Tomasz Gongola sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Nagyváradi AC booed when KKP Spasione Kocury was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomasz Gongola didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doğan Gayret in the 20th minute of play forced KKP Spasione Kocury's goalkeeper Eugeniusz Brack to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eugeniusz Brack showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doğan Gayret, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 29 minutes into the match, KKP Spasione Kocury's goal looked a bit too open when Doğan Gayret came free, but Eugeniusz Brack reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eugeniusz Brack took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doğan Gayret, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Nagyváradi AC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. László Szarka hit a great ball. 41 minutes into the match, Nagyváradi AC's goal looked a bit too open when Tomasz Gongola came free, but Gyula Grosics reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zdzislaw Buda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Gyula Grosics tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 46 played minutes KKP Spasione Kocury got a freekick which was hit by Marek Dziedelonis.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Doğan Gayret to strike the kick off in the second half. The corner went over the outstretched arms of KKP Spasione Kocury's goalie and right to Ferenc Puskás. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. KKP Spasione Kocury's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. After 53 played minutes Nagyváradi AC got a freekick which was hit by Ferenc Puskás. Doğan Gayret could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Eugeniusz Brack made a huge save. After 61 minutes, László Szarka mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nagyváradi AC and the KKP Spasione Kocury players grew even worse after the yellow card. KKP Spasione Kocury made a substitution. Mieszko Olejniczak replaced Bartlomiej Mierzejewski. László Szarka kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Mariusz Wolniewicz sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Nagyváradi AC's Gyula Grosics didn't even have to move. In the 69th minute, Lukasz Turek made a precise shot to the right of Gyula Grosics. Nagyváradi AC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Miklós Sebestyén's late challenge caught a KKP Spasione Kocury's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that László Szarka couldn't finish the play. After 93 minutes Nagyváradi AC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mariusz Wolniewicz who took care of the corner kick. When László Szarka was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 95 minutes had been played.
