Anselmo Vasconcelos's late challenge caught a Castanheiro SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anselmo Vasconcelos hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. 6 minutes into the match, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Leonardo Trancoso came free, but Chiquinho Guerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Castanheiro SC's Leonardo Trancoso in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goalie prevented a goal. Deivid Moreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 9th minute Leonardo Trancoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chiquinho Guerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 11 minutes, Leonardo Trancoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Castanheiro SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonardo Trancoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chiquinho Guerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonardo Trancoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. The Castanheiro SC fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when Castanheiro SC's Eliézer da Silveira looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Chiquinho Guerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo Trancoso in the 16th minute of play. Alex Gonçalves hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. After 19 played minutes, Castanheiro SC's Célio Pena shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Chiquinho Guerra came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Castanheiro SC reached it. 21 minutes into the match, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Eliézer da Silveira came free, but Chiquinho Guerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the game, Deivid Moreira recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Pedrinho Guimarães. Deivid Moreira showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Nilton Bittencourt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 31st minute of the match Castanheiro SC got a corner. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Célio Pena ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Célio Pena got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Chiquinho Guerra quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Anselmo Vasconcelos was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 36 minutes had been played. Anselmo Vasconcelos hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Leonardo Trancoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chiquinho Guerra having to interfere. In the 41st minute Nilson Veloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chiquinho Guerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd minute Leonardo Trancoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chiquinho Guerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute, Alex Gonçalves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Chiquinho Guerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonardo Trancoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Nilton Bittencourt got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goalkeeper Chiquinho Guerra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eliézer da Silveira struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Chiquinho Guerra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Castanheiro SC. Pedrinho Guimarães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Deivid Moreira in the 64th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fellipe da Silva got free with Chiquinho Guerra in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 70th minute Eliézer da Silveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chiquinho Guerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 72nd minute, Castanheiro SC's Leonardo Trancoso dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Leonardo Trancoso took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Chiquinho Guerra to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliézer da Silveira in the 88th minute of play forced Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goalkeeper Chiquinho Guerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's zone, Fellipe da Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chiquinho Guerra came out of the goal and Fellipe da Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Castanheiro SC's Leonardo Trancoso got a free kick in the 91st minute. Nilton Bittencourt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chiquinho Guerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fellipe da Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle sounded Castanheiro SC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ.
