Seating: 1940, VIP seats: 168) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Trey Marino started the match with the kick off. Franco Di Giambattista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Joinvilense, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Galo do Japi's Armando Sabino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Galo do Japi from getting a goal against them. In the 9th match minute, Racing Miami Futbol Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sidney Staton to maneuver through the defense. 17 minutes into the game, Lyle Macias recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Armando Sabino. Lyle Macias showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Melvin Slater kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Trey Marino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Sabino having to interfere. Franco Di Giambattista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldo Joinvilense in the 28th minute of play. The supporters of Galo do Japi booed when Racing Miami Futbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trey Marino didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lyle Macias got free with Armando Sabino in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Armando Sabino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lyle Macias in the 36th minute of play. A collision led to Racing Miami Futbol Club getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Glen Hoff hit a great ball. After 43 played minutes Galo do Japi got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldo Joinvilense. In the 44th minute, Lyle Macias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 47 played minutes Galo do Japi got a freekick which was hit by Laerte Moraes. Racing Miami Futbol Club's Genaro Cassidy was substituted for Lyle Macias. In the 49th minute, Laerte Moraes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Genaro Cassidy kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Armando Sabino. That made the score 2-0 in the 50 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ronaldo Joinvilense to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jeferson Nóbrega got free with Franco Di Giambattista in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Armando Sabino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cameron Bliss in the 57th minute of play. Armando Sabino didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Genaro Cassidy went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Genaro Cassidy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Armando Sabino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Galo do Japi's Armando Sabino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Genaro Cassidy in the 66th minute of play. When João Souto fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Galo do Japi's protests and gave João Souto a yellow card for diving instead. João Souto hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Sidney Staton took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 74th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Armando Sabino. Galo do Japi's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the match clock showed 76 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Genaro Cassidy sped through Galo do Japi's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Armando Sabino. 79 minutes into the match, Racing Miami Futbol Club's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldo Joinvilense came free, but Franco Di Giambattista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 80 minutes into the game, Racing Miami Futbol Club's Genaro Cassidy nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Armando Sabino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Mario Farris kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. The audience held their breath when Laerte Caca-Rato in the 85th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Franco Di Giambattista's left hand side. Franco Di Giambattista made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jeferson Nóbrega in the 86th minute. Genaro Cassidy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Armando Sabino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Michel Cannavaro fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Galo do Japi's protests and gave Michel Cannavaro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 91st match minute, Galo do Japi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michel Cannavaro to maneuver through the defense. For all the effort they put into the match, the Galo do Japi players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Racing Miami Futbol Club.
