Sefa Danış's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edvin van der Sar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. After 25 minutes, İhsan Özgun mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Senator S.A.K and the Vänge IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vänge IF's goalkeeper Lorien Vilela, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The throw-in from İhsan Özgun in the 41st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Vänge IF's Alvin Bergfelt. Edoardo Pasin struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. The audience was convinced that Mikael Wenerdahl's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edvin van der Sar was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ziemowit Mis in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lorien Vilela prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Senator S.A.K supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Senator S.A.K would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
