Seating: 1719, VIP seats: 149) Tigre's Teofilo Virila started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Edu Veiga came free with the goalkeeper in the 10th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Rogelio Gaur could save by the left post. In the 11th minute, Genaro Nataniel made a precise shot to the right of Osvaldinho Marquez. Grêmio FBPA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Eriberto Benet was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 15th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Osvaldinho Marquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Genaro Nataniel, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Amadeu Pitta hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Tigre's Florentino Henric got a free kick in the 20th minute. Osvaldinho Marquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Genaro Nataniel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 28 minutes, Osvaldo Santana mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Grêmio FBPA and the Tigre players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tigre's Teofilo Virila got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 32nd minute, Genaro Nataniel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tigre fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Grêmio FBPA's Osvaldinho Marquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florentino Henric in the 37th minute of play. Tigre were furious when Ramiro Montrelle was red carded, 40 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Rogelio Gaur had in the 42ndth minute some difficulties stopping Ronaldo Ramos's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Grêmio FBPA's Diamantino Barbosa couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 44th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Tigre. In the 47th minute Genaro Nataniel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldinho Marquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Teofilo Virila got free with Osvaldinho Marquez in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 82 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's goal looked a bit too open when Florentino Henric came free, but Osvaldinho Marquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Osvaldinho Marquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Genaro Nataniel in the 84th minute of the match. 86 minutes into the game, Tigre's Florentino Henric nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Osvaldinho Marquez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. After some careless play in the Grêmio FBPA defense, Teofilo Virila kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Osvaldinho Marquez. The Grêmio FBPA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Osvaldinho Marquez should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice moves Teofilo Virila could shoot a difficult shot in the 96th minute, which Osvaldinho Marquez however easily saved by the left post. 98 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Osvaldinho Marquez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Teofilo Virila.
