Reima Ruuttu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Stig Fredriksson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stig Fredriksson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reima Ruuttu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 25 played minutes Manchester United FC got a freekick which was hit by Ylermi Glad. Manchester United FC's Saul Väänänen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by August Josefsson in the 26th minute of play. Stig Fredriksson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Taavetti Valkealahti, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Reima Ruuttu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ylermi Glad took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stig Fredriksson. Stig Fredriksson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 36 minutes into the match, Örebro FF's goal looked a bit too open when Reima Ruuttu came free, but Stig Fredriksson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Örebro FF defense, Reima Ruuttu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stig Fredriksson. The Örebro FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stig Fredriksson should have stopped the shot. In the 42nd minute, Jami Uhlbäck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Taavetti Valkealahti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

In the 91st minute, one of Manchester United FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Manchester United FC. Manchester United FC:s Saul Väänänen showed great skill when he stopped Åke Aleberg:s penalty. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reima Ruuttu got free with Stig Fredriksson in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
