The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sigvard Björk struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Korneliusz Ziemniak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Blueskatterna. Christian Drewitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Kosiorek, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. With a little luck, Borzykówka's Korneliusz Ziemniak got control of the ball when Sigvard Björk tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of FC Blueskatterna booed when Borzykówka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roch Zjawin didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Roger Glanselius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zdzislaw Puszynski in the 23rd minute of play forced FC Blueskatterna's goalkeeper Christian Drewitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Korneliusz Ziemniak was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Roger Glanselius showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 27 minute of play. Borzykówka's Korneliusz Ziemniak proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Borzykówka from getting a goal against them. After 34 played minutes Borzykówka got a freekick which was hit by Gilbert Gomolka. Sigvard Björk scored 2-0 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Korneliusz Ziemniak, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 41 minutes, Wasyl Trochowski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Borzykówka's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wasyl Trochowski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Christian Drewitz came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Borzykówka's Robert Kosiorek. But to his dismay, Robert Kosiorek quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sigvard Björk made a kick off. Roger Glanselius fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Korneliusz Ziemniak having to interfere. 56 minutes into the match, Borzykówka's goal looked a bit too open when Herbert Lundin came free, but Korneliusz Ziemniak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roch Zjawin's late challenge caught a FC Blueskatterna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roch Zjawin helped the player get up and apologised. Korneliusz Ziemniak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herbert Lundin in the 58th minute of the match. 60 minutes into the match, FC Blueskatterna's goalkeeper Christian Drewitz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wasyl Trochowski. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Robert Kosiorek took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Christian Drewitz to make any attempt to save it. Zdzislaw Puszynski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Drewitz having to interfere. When Roch Zjawin was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 73 minutes had been played. The supporters of FC Blueskatterna booed when Borzykówka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roch Zjawin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Korneliusz Ziemniak didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sigvard Björk went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Sigvard Björk took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Korneliusz Ziemniak. Korneliusz Ziemniak dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. Tolek Kazczyk, 86 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Korneliusz Ziemniak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roger Glanselius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roger Glanselius received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Korneliusz Ziemniak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Blueskatterna's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
