Claes Brenner charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Claes Brenner the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roger Kämpe in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristian Romsbøge prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cristian Romsbøge didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Roger Kämpe went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After 26 played minutes Norrlands Athen got a freekick which was hit by Rickard Andreasson. Sebastian Bisfort fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lars-Erik Wall having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 33rd minute of the game. One of Norrlands Athen:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Boldklubben Skjold:s goal. In the 35th minute there was a penalty for Boldklubben Skjold. Tor Glarner stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Lars-Erik Wall. 1-2. When Martin Gronild fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Boldklubben Skjold's protests and gave Martin Gronild a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Boldklubben Skjold's Martin Gronild got a free kick in the 41st minute. Cristian Romsbøge took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roger Kämpe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 44 played minutes Norrlands Athen got a freekick which was hit by Rickard Andreasson. The Norrlands Athen players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Boldklubben Skjold were winning 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roger Kämpe stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Norrlands Athen's Roger Kämpe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Boldklubben Skjold's Claes Valdau managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Josef Lundhberg in the 75 minute of the game. The supporters of Boldklubben Skjold booed when Norrlands Athen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josef Lundhberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Tor Glarner had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lars-Erik Wall. Norrlands Athen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tor Glarner was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Boldklubben Skjold played a much better game than Norrlands Athen and deserved their victory. The Norrlands Athen players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
