Johnny Wadham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boruc Praski having to interfere. After a rather tough play, KKS Lech Poznań's Stefan Dzierwa got a free kick in the 5th minute. When Ignacy Ruszczyk fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KKS Lech Poznań's protests and gave Ignacy Ruszczyk a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Corinthians FC booed when KKS Lech Poznań was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ignacy Ruszczyk didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Johnny Wadham's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Boruc Praski was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. David Bettney made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Waldemar Malik sent off a good shot on target. KKS Lech Poznań's Boruc Praski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richie Goacher in the 24th minute of play. Waldemar Malik recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Boruc Praski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richie Goacher in the 33rd minute of the match. Boruc Praski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Johnny Wadham went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When Dion Spacey fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Corinthians FC's protests and gave Dion Spacey a yellow card for diving instead. If Janusz Dylla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 43 minutes into the game, Toby Dunn was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Corinthians FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KKS Lech Poznań the free kick.

A collision led to Corinthians FC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Danny Wybrow hit a great ball. KKS Lech Poznań's defense didn't have a chance, in the 65th minute, when Johnny Wadham scored to the left of an out of position Boruc Praski, making the score, 0-3. 68 minutes into the game, Johnny Wadham cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Boruc Praski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 75 minutes in the game Harvey Crowther did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Tris Stockley. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johnny Wadham in the 76th minute of play forced KKS Lech Poznań's goalkeeper Boruc Praski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Waldemar Malik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Janusz Dylla blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without David Bettney having to make a save. Vince Whitford hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. The throw-in from Vince Whitford in the 87th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by KKS Lech Poznań's Radomil Kolba. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Waldemar Malik managed to get in a good position for a shot. KKS Lech Poznań's supporters rose to their feet, but Waldemar Malik was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Bettney breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wasyl Cebula kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Corinthians FC's Tris Stockley shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 91st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Boruc Praski but with some difficulty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johnny Wadham in the 95th minute of play forced KKS Lech Poznań's goalkeeper Boruc Praski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edmund Kosowski during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Boruc Praski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johnny Wadham, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Corinthians FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
