The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Diego Nesor during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 2 played minutes Gimnasia y tiro got a freekick which was hit by Diego Nesor. In the 3rd minute, Segundo Marin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Celestino Clementi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Victorino Leocadio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Silvio Dei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicolas Blai kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Celestino Clementi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Diego Nesor's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. 29 minutes into the game, Gimnasia y tiro's Ladislao Senio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Celestino Clementi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Dante Enol hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Gimnasia y tiro's Diego Nesor got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the FrenaHayBache defense, Ovidio Cutberto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Celestino Clementi. The FrenaHayBache fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Celestino Clementi should have stopped the shot. FrenaHayBache's Hermengildo Peter got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Diego Nesor's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Celestino Clementi was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
