David Bettney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ovidio Cutberto, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Dionisio Faro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tris Stockley's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Johnny Wadham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Dionisio Faro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st minute Diego Nesor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Bettney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gimnasia y tiro's Dionisio Faro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johnny Wadham in the 28th minute of play. Dionisio Faro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johnny Wadham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Corinthians FC's David Bettney got control of the ball when Segundo Marin tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 34 minutes, Segundo Marin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gimnasia y tiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Segundo Marin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 35 minutes into the match, Corinthians FC's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Nesor came free, but David Bettney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, Gimnasia y tiro's goal looked a bit too open when Johnny Wadham came free, but Dionisio Faro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Corinthians FC's David Bettney got control of the ball when Segundo Marin tried to sneak it across the goal line. 40 minutes into the game, Diego Nesor recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of David Bettney. Diego Nesor showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Gimnasia y tiro's zone, Tris Stockley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dionisio Faro came out of the goal and Tris Stockley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Segundo Marin made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Corinthians FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Senio came free, but David Bettney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reg Renner's late challenge caught a Gimnasia y tiro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Reg Renner helped the player get up and apologised. Reg Renner kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Segundo Marin in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Bettney prevented the ball from getting in the gole. David Bettney showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Nesor in the 61st minute of the match. The supporters of Gimnasia y tiro booed when Corinthians FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danny Wybrow didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dionisio Faro came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Corinthians FC's Tris Stockley. But to his dismay, Tris Stockley quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Dion Spacey shot from long distance in the 69th minute, but Dionisio Faro was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. 74 minutes into the match, Gimnasia y tiro's goalkeeper Dionisio Faro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Johnny Wadham. Tris Stockley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Dionisio Faro made a huge save. Corinthians FC's David Bettney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Segundo Marin in the 90th minute of play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
