In the 3rd match minute, Carrossel Caipira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Hermes to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, AC Milan's Dinei Hermes threw himself towards the right post 5 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Panos Zervidis, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Aris Kortzidis who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 8thth minute tested the skills of Dinei Hermes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Dinei Hermes came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by AC Milan's Nikos Kosmidis. But to his dismay, Nikos Kosmidis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 16 minutes into the match, Paulão Veiga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fotis Tatsis. AC Milan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paulão Veiga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. 19 minutes in the game, Timos Vlontakis dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Fotis Tatsis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Vítor Mendonça in the 21st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulão Veiga in the 22nd minute of play forced AC Milan's goalkeeper Fotis Tatsis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute of the match Horácio Barral sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fotis Tatsis skillfully saved the ball. If José Vítor Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dinei Hermes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Panos Zervidis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the AC Milan defense, José Vítor Mendonça kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fotis Tatsis. The AC Milan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fotis Tatsis should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nikos Kosmidis got free with Dinei Hermes in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 36 minutes into the game, AC Milan's Fanis Panousis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dinei Hermes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. The supporters of Carrossel Caipira booed when AC Milan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Panos Zervidis didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Vítor Mendonça in the 42nd minute of play forced AC Milan's goalkeeper Fotis Tatsis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Timos Vlontakis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dinei Hermes. That made the score 3-2 in the 45 minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paulão Veiga to strike the kick off in the second half. Aris Kortzidis kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. 59 minutes into the match, Kostas Manouselis notched a goal, 4-3, to the right of Carrossel Caipira's Dinei Hermes. Dinei Hermes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Raúl Godoi hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Dinei Hermes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aris Kortzidis in the 64th minute of play. After 65 played minutes Carrossel Caipira got a freekick which was hit by Dudu Queiroz. 67 minutes into the match, Carrossel Caipira's goal looked a bit too open when Panos Zervidis came free, but Dinei Hermes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 67 minutes, Horácio Barral mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carrossel Caipira and the AC Milan players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Carrossel Caipira getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Horácio Barral hit a great ball. After 70 played minutes AC Milan got a freekick which was hit by Alekos Volakis. When Nikos Bertsis fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AC Milan's protests and gave Nikos Bertsis a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to AC Milan getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Nikos Bertsis hit a great ball. When Dudu Queiroz came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Carrossel Caipira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dudu Queiroz couldn't finish the play. If Paulão Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
