After a rather tough play, Los up up's Bonifacio Taurino got a free kick in the 6th minute. Hermengildo Maureo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ian Bastow in the 7th minute of the match. The Los up up fans' excitement grew in the 8th match minute when Los up up's Desiderio Erdiano looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Hermengildo Maureo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marta Kante in the 14th minute of play. Marta Kante's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hermengildo Maureo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. After 19 minutes, Bonifacio Taurino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Los up up and the Carlisle United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Los up up fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 18th minute. Penalty! Hermengildo Maureo went to the wrong direction when Martyn Heslop was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Carlisle United's Dion Jefferies played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Desiderio Erdiano in the 22nd minute of play. Ian Bastow sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hermengildo Maureo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ian Bastow, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Los up up's Hermengildo Maureo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugh Tyson in the 27th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ian Bastow in the 28th minute of play forced Los up up's goalkeeper Hermengildo Maureo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hermengildo Maureo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martyn Heslop in the 29th minute of the match. In the 33rd minute Desiderio Erdiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dion Jefferies saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Baldomero Paz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dion Jefferies having to interfere. Marta Kante struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Hermengildo Maureo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carlisle United. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Ian Bastow managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carlisle United's supporters rose to their feet, but Ian Bastow was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hermengildo Maureo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Desiderio Erdiano to make the kick off. Micheal Firth kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Dion Jefferies showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baldomero Paz, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 53rd match minute, Carlisle United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jo Higson to maneuver through the defense. Ian Bastow received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Hermengildo Maureo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Desiderio Erdiano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dion Jefferies was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Hermengildo Maureo was a little too slow when Ian Bastow got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 63rd minute. The score was now 1-1. 71 minutes into the game, Baldomero Paz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Dion Jefferies was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Martyn Heslop had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hugh Tyson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermengildo Maureo having to interfere. Dion Jefferies stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Desiderio Erdiano's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Baldomero Paz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dion Jefferies having to interfere. Martyn Heslop received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Hermengildo Maureo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 94 minutes into the match, Los up up's goal looked a bit too open when Ian Bastow came free, but Hermengildo Maureo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Los up up players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
