William Kenworthy was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Gilson Braga. After a defensive mix-up in Carlisle United's zone, Erik Pereira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. William Kenworthy came out of the goal and Erik Pereira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Carlisle United's Ian Bastow got a free kick in the 15th minute. Carlisle United's William Kenworthy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Carlisle United from getting a goal against them. William Kenworthy made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Erik Pereira sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugh Tyson in the 24th minute of play forced Academia B.F.'s goalkeeper Belmiro Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Academia B.F. getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Erik Pereira hit a great ball. In the 41st match minute, Carlisle United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugh Tyson to maneuver through the defense. 45 minutes into the game, Erik Pereira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. William Kenworthy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ian Bastow was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Academia B.F.'s goalkeeper Belmiro Godoi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hugh Tyson. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Erik Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Academia B.F.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Erik Pereira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. William Kenworthy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Erik Pereira kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Carlisle United's Hugh Tyson got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A throw-in in the 64th minute of the game was made by Jasper Mills with Hugh Tyson as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Belmiro Godoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ian Bastow in the 67th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Ian Bastow managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carlisle United's supporters rose to their feet, but Ian Bastow was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Belmiro Godoi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Belmiro Godoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ian Bastow in the 80th minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Hugh Tyson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Carlisle United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1.
