Joinville Esporte Clube's Alex Pereira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Joinville Esporte Clube from getting a goal against them. 19 minutes into the game, José Paulo Sousa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Joinville Esporte Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C CLUJ MEDICINA the free kick. In the 19th minute, José Paulo Sousa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iacob Irimescu succeeded in the game's 22nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's Mihail Onaca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Arantes in the 26th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's goal looked a bit too open when Célio Mangueira came free, but Mihail Onaca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ricardo Arantes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mihail Onaca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Célio Mangueira in the 34th minute of play. Mihail Onaca came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Joinville Esporte Clube's Célio Mangueira. But to his dismay, Célio Mangueira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Célio Mangueira in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mihail Onaca saved F.C CLUJ MEDICINA from getting behind. After 66 played minutes Joinville Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by José Paulo Sousa. Mihail Onaca stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ricardo Arantes's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Célio Mangueira struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Mihail Onaca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Joinville Esporte Clube. Nestor de Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihail Onaca having to interfere.
