Aloísio Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Paulo da Mata in the 5th minute of play. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Red Bull Magnus's goalkeeper Aloísio Guimarães, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Remo da Costa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maurinho Rosado's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. In the 14th minute, Luís Paulo da Mata made a precise shot to the right of Aloísio Guimarães. Red Bull Magnus's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Paulo da Mata in the 17th minute of play forced Red Bull Magnus's goalkeeper Aloísio Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Remo da Costa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maurinho Rosado's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Luís Paulo da Mata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 30 played minutes S S Palestra Italia got a freekick which was hit by Dagoberto Rossi. In the 34th minute, Maurinho Rosado made a precise shot to the right of Remo da Costa. S S Palestra Italia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maurinho Rosado in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Remo da Costa saved S S Palestra Italia from getting behind. After 38 minutes, Anderson Cosme mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S S Palestra Italia and the Red Bull Magnus players grew even worse after the yellow card. Anderson Cosme hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute, Claudinei Teles ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aloísio Guimarães was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The Red Bull Magnus players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. S S Palestra Italia were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maurinho Rosado to make the kick off. In the 54th match minute, Red Bull Magnus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basílio Guimarães to maneuver through the defense. Remo da Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antoine Griezmann in the 58th minute of play. In the 62nd match minute, Red Bull Magnus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Falcão Antunes to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th minute, Basílio Guimarães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Claudinei Teles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aloísio Guimarães having to interfere. After having played for 97 minutes, Claudinei Teles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. S S Palestra Italia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudinei Teles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. S S Palestra Italia had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
