The supporters of Set Fire booed when VaRıNcA ÇaLdıR iStaNbuL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaffar Serim didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 15 played minutes Set Fire got a freekick which was hit by Ivó Almeida. Rogério Apalanga's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Baransel Gündem firmly grabbed it by the left post. Set Fire's Marcelo Novais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yağızhan Haneci in the 21st minute of play. After 21 played minutes, VaRıNcA ÇaLdıR iStaNbuL's Akay Hedef shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marcelo Novais came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in VaRıNcA ÇaLdıR iStaNbuL reached it. Baransel Gündem was a little too slow when Emílio Camarinha got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 24th minute. The score was now 1-0. VaRıNcA ÇaLdıR iStaNbuL's Birdal Oğuzbay managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Toni Sá in the 30 minute of the game. Marcelo Novais made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ali Nabi Yörük in the 31st minute of play. Baransel Gündem took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emílio Camarinha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes into the match, VaRıNcA ÇaLdıR iStaNbuL's goal looked a bit too open when Emílio Camarinha came free, but Baransel Gündem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st minute, Set Fire's Rogério Apalanga ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Baransel Gündem. Baransel Gündem yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Ünal Songurhan charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ünal Songurhan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some careless play in the VaRıNcA ÇaLdıR iStaNbuL defense, Rogério Apalanga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Baransel Gündem. The VaRıNcA ÇaLdıR iStaNbuL fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Baransel Gündem should have stopped the shot.

The wind increased when Rogério Apalanga made the kick off in the second half. Baransel Gündem showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emílio Camarinha, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. In the 60th minute Rogério Apalanga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baransel Gündem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Vasques charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pedro Vasques the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 78 minutes into the match, VaRıNcA ÇaLdıR iStaNbuL's goal looked a bit too open when Emílio Camarinha came free, but Baransel Gündem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
