The supporters of Surahammar booed when Polar Ice Caps was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Georg Borre didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jens-Åke Bank took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ingemar Eckegren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bengt Holmberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonardo Brolin, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 35th minute Gottfrid Rang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bengt Holmberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 44th minute of the match, Alf Lindmark tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bengt Holmberg saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The wind increased when Ingemar Eckegren made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Markus Bergsten was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Surahammar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Polar Ice Caps the free kick. After 51 played minutes Surahammar got a freekick which was hit by Markus Bergsten. Surahammar's Jens-Åke Bank played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wolf-Jürgen von Buol-Schaudenstein in the 52nd minute of play. Bengt Holmberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gottfrid Rang in the 55th minute of the match. Ingemar Eckegren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Polar Ice Caps defense, Gottfrid Rang kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bengt Holmberg. The Polar Ice Caps fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bengt Holmberg should have stopped the shot. When Henning Brodin fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Polar Ice Caps's protests and gave Henning Brodin a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Polar Ice Caps getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Henning Brodin hit a great ball. Bengt Holmberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gottfrid Rang in the 92nd minute of play. Bengt Holmberg came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Surahammar's Gottfrid Rang. But to his dismay, Gottfrid Rang quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2.
