The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Polar Ice Caps's Bengt Holmberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Urbano Harriet in the 9th minute of play. Jaime Paul struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Bengt Holmberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Halcones Azules. After having played for 17 minutes, Godofredo Rito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Halcones Azules's supporters crossed their fingers, but Godofredo Rito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ernst Tingelholm's late challenge caught a Halcones Azules's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ernst Tingelholm helped the player get up and apologised. Ernst Tingelholm kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Halcones Azules's goalkeeper Laureano Gonza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Halcones Azules's Godofredo Rito in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Halcones Azules's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Polar Ice Caps the free kick. Halcones Azules's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
