Wolf-Jürgen von Buol-Schaudenstein started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Polar Ice Caps booed when Cobresal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mercurio Miquel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 5th minute, Wolf-Jürgen von Buol-Schaudenstein ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zavier Prenafeta was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 8th match minute, Polar Ice Caps was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Georg Borre to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Polar Ice Caps's Markus Lundström got a free kick in the 10th minute. After 12 played minutes, Cobresal's Ermegildo Marsano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bengt Holmberg came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cobresal reached it. 14 minutes into the match, Polar Ice Caps's goal looked a bit too open when Eriberto Pincheira came free, but Bengt Holmberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Cobresal booed when Polar Ice Caps was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Markus Lundström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bengt Holmberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mercurio Miquel, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After having played for 18 minutes, Bruno Sologuren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cobresal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruno Sologuren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 19th minute, Eriberto Pincheira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bengt Holmberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Bengt Holmberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno Sologuren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bengt Holmberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Sologuren in the 26th minute of play. Cobresal's Marciano Zuburu suffered a sprained foot after 28 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 28 minutes, Peder Ahlkvist mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Polar Ice Caps and the Cobresal players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cobresal's Axel Véjar was substituted for Marciano Zuburu. In the 29th match minute, Polar Ice Caps was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Peder Ahlkvist to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Cobresal booed when Polar Ice Caps was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Markus Lundström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Polar Ice Caps's Bengt Holmberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Delmiro Manghy in the 31st minute of play. In the 40th minute, Bruno Sologuren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bengt Holmberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After having played for 46 minutes, Wolf-Jürgen von Buol-Schaudenstein managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Polar Ice Caps players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cobresal were winning 1-2.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eriberto Pincheira made a kick off. Bengt Holmberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eriberto Pincheira in the 51st minute of play. During the 52nd minute of the match Peder Ahlkvist completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Peder Ahlkvist a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Polar Ice Caps's Peder Ahlkvist got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 55th match minute, Polar Ice Caps was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Georg Borre to maneuver through the defense. 57 minutes into the match, Polar Ice Caps's goalkeeper Bengt Holmberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eriberto Pincheira. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Mercurio Miquel took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Bengt Holmberg to make any attempt to save it. Ingemar Eckegren succeeded in the game's 64th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-3. 70 minutes into the game, Bruno Sologuren cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-4. Bengt Holmberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Polar Ice Caps's defense didn't have a chance, in the 74th minute, when Bruno Sologuren scored to the left of an out of position Bengt Holmberg, making the score, 2-5. Polar Ice Caps's Bengt Holmberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Polar Ice Caps from getting a goal against them. 82 minutes into the game, Henning Brodin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Polar Ice Caps's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cobresal the free kick. 85 minutes into the game, Mercurio Miquel recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bengt Holmberg. Mercurio Miquel showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-6. Bengt Holmberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eriberto Pincheira in the 88th minute of play. Bengt Holmberg came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Cobresal's Mercurio Miquel. But to his dismay, Mercurio Miquel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-7. A hard shot 94 in the game by Mercurio Miquel from a close distance when the talented Bengt Holmberg managed to make a qualified save. Polar Ice Caps's players were relieved. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Eriberto Pincheira put it in 2-8 from a short distance just to the right of Bengt Holmberg.
