Tasos Karypidis hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Cornelio Rigueiro struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Panagiotis Kastanis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CD Municipal. In the 39th minute, Nikos Kontosoros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vaggelis Tsigounakis in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Burutzagi Romero saved CD Municipal from getting behind. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vaggelis Tsigounakis to make the kick off. After 54 minutes of play, ERGOTELIS's Christos Dimitriadis made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Burutzagi Romero was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dimitris Krasakis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Burutzagi Romero having to interfere. Burutzagi Romero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vaggelis Tsigounakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute.
