The crowd rose to their feet as Clinton Starnes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ademar Leme. That made the score 2-0 in the 13 minute of play. Márcio Cruz hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Mohammed Cagle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anderson Teles, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Ademar Leme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Odell McPherson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eduardo de Castro hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 23rd minute, Clinton Starnes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Odell McPherson hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Clinton Starnes in the 26thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. The supporters of Jardim Botânico booed when S.D. Bajen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brickeen Wall didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clinton Starnes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ademar Leme having to interfere. In the 45th minute Odell McPherson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ademar Leme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ademar Leme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Odell McPherson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Odell McPherson was the one to do the kick off. Jardim Botânico's Ademar Leme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Odell McPherson in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd match minute, Jardim Botânico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marquinhos Dracena to maneuver through the defense. After 54 minutes of play, S.D. Bajen's Clinton Starnes made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ademar Leme was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, S.D. Bajen's Clinton Starnes got a free kick in the 57th minute. Ademar Leme stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Odell McPherson's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Clinton Starnes in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ademar Leme prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clinton Starnes in the 64th minute of play forced Jardim Botânico's goalkeeper Ademar Leme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th match minute, S.D. Bajen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Odell McPherson to maneuver through the defense. 69 minutes into the match, S.D. Bajen's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimir Almeida came free, but Mohammed Cagle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Odell McPherson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S.D. Bajen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Clinton Starnes took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ademar Leme. Ademar Leme dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Clinton Starnes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ademar Leme having to interfere. Odell McPherson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ademar Leme having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Serginho Hoffmann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Jardim Botânico players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for S.D. Bajen.
