Thanks to some nice moves Fulvio Di Crescenzo could shoot a difficult shot in the 10th minute, which Guillen Mijangos however easily saved by the left post. After 12 minutes Universitario's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Attilio Feliziani who took care of the corner kick. In the 13th match minute, Duri come il marmo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciro Tosi to maneuver through the defense. Edwardo Ruete took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Arrigo Del Grosso. Duri come il marmo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Universitario's goal looked a bit too open when Fortunato Malvezzi came free, but Guillen Mijangos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Universitario's goal looked a bit too open when Ferruccio Ascani came free, but Guillen Mijangos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Erasto Tella fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Universitario's protests and gave Erasto Tella a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Duri come il marmo booed when Universitario was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erasto Tella didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 35th minute, Frank Rago made a precise shot to the right of Guillen Mijangos. Universitario's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. 37 minutes into the game, Fortunato Malvezzi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Duri come il marmo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Universitario the free kick. Guillen Mijangos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferruccio Ascani in the 41st minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When Vidal Cantabrana came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Universitario fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vidal Cantabrana couldn't finish the play. Guillen Mijangos came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Duri come il marmo's Frank Rago. But to his dismay, Frank Rago quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. Vidal Cantabrana's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arrigo Del Grosso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. After 71 played minutes Universitario got a freekick which was hit by Argi Rionda. The supporters of Duri come il marmo booed when Universitario was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Argi Rionda didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78th minute Fortunato Malvezzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guillen Mijangos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guillen Mijangos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fulvio Di Crescenzo, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After a rather tough play, Universitario's Garcia Dalaje got a free kick in the 83rd minute. 85 minutes into the match, Fulvio Di Crescenzo notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Universitario's Guillen Mijangos. Guillen Mijangos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Guillen Mijangos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emiliano Pietrantoni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guillen Mijangos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fortunato Malvezzi in the 92nd minute of play. There was no doubt that Duri come il marmo were the better team. Duri come il marmo's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
