Spectators: 7481 (Terracing: 5612, Seating: 1720, VIP seats: 149) Stars Academy's Américo Albuquerque started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Márcio Valle during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 3rd match minute, Rapinantes F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Márcio Valle to maneuver through the defense. Joaquim Domingos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Márcio Valle in the 8th minute of play. In the 11th minute Marcel Carioca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquim Domingos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Stars Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Márcio Valle came free, but Joaquim Domingos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Márcio Valle in the 14th minute of play forced Stars Academy's goalkeeper Joaquim Domingos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquim Domingos came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Rapinantes F.C.'s Marcel Carioca. But to his dismay, Marcel Carioca quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 21 played minutes Stars Academy got a freekick which was hit by Evandro Neves. After a rather tough play, Rapinantes F.C.'s Válbson Alagoano got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Bento Perdigão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Rapinantes F.C. booed when Stars Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jairo Carrasqueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcel Carioca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Domingos having to interfere. In the 30th minute, Marcel Carioca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Evandro Neves kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Stars Academy's Joaquim Domingos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lino Diniz in the 34th minute of play. In the 36thth minute of the game Marcel Carioca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stars Academy's Joaquim Domingos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 37 minutes into the game, Marcel Carioca cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Joaquim Domingos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alfredo Couto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ramiro Leme in the 42nd minute. The audience was convinced that Bento Perdigão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfredo Couto was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. Joaquim Domingos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcel Carioca in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lino Diniz to make the kick off. When Jairo Carrasqueira fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stars Academy's protests and gave Jairo Carrasqueira a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Stars Academy fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 52nd minute. Penalty! Joaquim Domingos went to the wrong direction when Daniel Teles was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Américo Albuquerque in the 64th minute of play forced Rapinantes F.C.'s goalkeeper Alfredo Couto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredo Couto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bento Perdigão in the 70th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Rapinantes F.C.'s Marcel Carioca sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquim Domingos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Albérico Bacelar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Alfredo Couto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joaquim Domingos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcel Carioca, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 90th match minute, Rapinantes F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Teles to maneuver through the defense. Alfredo Couto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bento Perdigão, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. Stars Academy succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Rapinantes F.C. had controlled the match.
