GORNIK PIASKI's Ryszard Pyrtek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Zalayeta in the 10th minute of play. When GORNIK PIASKI's Stefan Bierfass in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Lluterio Mendibuey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ryszard Pyrtek having to interfere. Ryszard Pyrtek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victorino Caravantes in the 36th minute of play. Ryszard Pyrtek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victorino Caravantes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's Lluterio Mendibuey got a free kick in the 40th minute. Marcelo Zalayeta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Ryszard Pyrtek made a huge save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stefan Bierfass to make the kick off. Grzegorz Niedziela kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the GORNIK PIASKI players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Deportivo Peñarol FIFV.
