Washington Aguerre came out of the goal and Thiago Queirós tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcelo Zalayeta came free with the goalkeeper in the 5th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Horácio Veiga could save by the left post. If Délio Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 8th minute, Délio Vargas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 10th minute, Edgard de Salles ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Washington Aguerre was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. A.A.100Qualidade's Horácio Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Merexildo Contero in the 16th minute of play. 19 minutes into the game, Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's Lluterio Mendibuey nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Horácio Veiga made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Marcelo Zalayeta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Horácio Veiga having to make a save. Horácio Veiga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victorino Caravantes in the 23rd minute of play. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind A.A.100Qualidade's goalkeeper Horácio Veiga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 28 played minutes A.A.100Qualidade got a freekick which was hit by Christian de Barros. Délio Vargas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Washington Aguerre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Lluterio Mendibuey made a precise shot to the right of Horácio Veiga. A.A.100Qualidade's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcelo Zalayeta to strike the kick off in the second half. Horácio Veiga didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Victorino Caravantes went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Zalayeta in the 60th minute of play forced A.A.100Qualidade's goalkeeper Horácio Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 63 minutes into the match, A.A.100Qualidade's goal looked a bit too open when Lluterio Mendibuey came free, but Horácio Veiga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marquinhos Veloso hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute, Délio Vargas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 74 minutes into the match, A.A.100Qualidade's goal looked a bit too open when Merexildo Contero came free, but Horácio Veiga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Victorino Caravantes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcelo Zalayeta took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Horácio Veiga. Horácio Veiga dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. With 80 minutes on the clock, Marquinhos Veloso commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After some careless play in the Deportivo Peñarol FIFV defense, Thiago Queirós kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Washington Aguerre. The Deportivo Peñarol FIFV fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Washington Aguerre should have stopped the shot. 88 minutes into the match, Marcelo Zalayeta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Horácio Veiga. A.A.100Qualidade's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcelo Zalayeta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-2. Horácio Veiga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Zalayeta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Horácio Veiga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelo Zalayeta, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Deportivo Peñarol FIFV had played much better football throughout.
