After 6 played minutes, RWD Molenbeek's Vânderson Santana shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Carmelo Nikola came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in RWD Molenbeek reached it. Ronaldo Novaes kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. After some careless play in the RWD Molenbeek defense, Eusebio Paskal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Almir Diniz. The RWD Molenbeek fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Almir Diniz should have stopped the shot. Samuel Gorbea's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Almir Diniz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, RWD Molenbeek's goal looked a bit too open when Anibal Fidencio came free, but Almir Diniz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Almir Diniz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusebio Paskal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Almir Diniz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. 38 minutes into the match, Anacleto Astudillo notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of RWD Molenbeek's Almir Diniz. Almir Diniz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 42 minutes into the game, Samuel Gorbea was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Salmuera CP's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RWD Molenbeek the free kick. The supporters of RWD Molenbeek booed when Salmuera CP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Gorbea didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute of the match, Ronaldo Novaes tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Carmelo Nikola saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Carmelo Nikola made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Perez in the 46th minute. RWD Molenbeek's Almir Diniz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Vargas in the 47th minute of play.

Almir Diniz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. With 94 minutes on the clock, Erivaldo Neves commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in RWD Molenbeek fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 93rd minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Almir Diniz, was totally fooled by Salmuera CP's Samuel Gorbea, who 96 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Salmuera CP's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
