The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute Robustiano Paulin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rômulo Neiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8th minute, Júlio Breckenfeld left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Flores da Cunha - RS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 11 minutes of play, Flores da Cunha - RS's Marco Gonçalves made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carmelo Nikola was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Salmuera CP booed when Flores da Cunha - RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tostão Vidal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rômulo Neiva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Robustiano Paulin's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. In the 19th match minute, Flores da Cunha - RS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júlio Breckenfeld to maneuver through the defense. Flores da Cunha - RS's Rômulo Neiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Flores da Cunha - RS from getting a goal against them. Rômulo Neiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robustiano Paulin, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 24 minutes into the game, Júlio Breckenfeld was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marco Gonçalves might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carmelo Nikola. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marco Gonçalves ran back to his position shaking his head. Mariano Jatsu made in the 39th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Anibal Fidencio. Flores da Cunha - RS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when Leon Vargas scored to the left of an out of position Rômulo Neiva, making the score, 1-2. Rômulo Neiva made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Anibal Fidencio sent off a good shot on target. With an all-out effort, Salmuera CP's Rômulo Neiva threw himself towards the right post 48 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Robustiano Paulin, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Leon Vargas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Júlio Breckenfeld fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carmelo Nikola having to interfere. Rômulo Neiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leon Vargas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 59th minute, Robustiano Paulin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rômulo Neiva was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Flores da Cunha - RS's Rômulo Neiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Vargas in the 63rd minute of play. 65 minutes into the game, Robustiano Paulin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Rômulo Neiva was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Leon Vargas took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rômulo Neiva. Rômulo Neiva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. Rômulo Neiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robustiano Paulin, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Rômulo Neiva made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-2. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Robustiano Paulin put it in 6-2 from a short distance just to the right of Rômulo Neiva. Robustiano Paulin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Flores da Cunha - RS booed when Salmuera CP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ubaldo Raebert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rômulo Neiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leon Vargas, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. In the 94th minute, Robustiano Paulin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Salmuera CP fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-2. Salmuera CP walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
