Penalty! 18 minutes into the game, Wellington Barros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Flores da Cunha - RS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RWD Molenbeek the free kick. Wellington Barros hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute, RWD Molenbeek's Tomé Nogueira dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Flores da Cunha - RS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Fabinho Simão scored to the left of an out of position Rômulo Neiva, making the score, 2-1. After a rather tough play, RWD Molenbeek's Erivaldo Neves got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Rômulo Neiva made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Francisco Perez sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hélio Salles in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Almir Diniz saved RWD Molenbeek from getting behind. Rômulo Neiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabinho Simão in the 38th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Guto Queiroz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute of the match Vânderson Santana shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rômulo Neiva showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 45th minute, Flores da Cunha - RS's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Betinho Damião fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hélio Salles to make the kick off. Francisco Perez took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rômulo Neiva. Rômulo Neiva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. 55 minutes into the match, Betinho Damião had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rômulo Neiva. Flores da Cunha - RS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Betinho Damião was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Rômulo Neiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Perez, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Flores da Cunha - RS's Rômulo Neiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabinho Simão in the 61st minute of play. Rômulo Neiva was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 74th minute Ronaldo Novaes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rômulo Neiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
