Gilberto Queiroz came out and tried to block the shot, but Frank Jakobsson slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 6th minute. Fluminense di Parma's Gilberto Queiroz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bo Wikander in the 28th minute of play. Egon Eliasson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Belmiro Bueno in the 32nd minute of play. Egon Eliasson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dudu Prata, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 38th minute, Belmiro Bueno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bo Wikander in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gilberto Queiroz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Benedito Novaes kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Belmiro Bueno during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bo Wikander was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Fluminense di Parma booed when Hockeysnubbarnas BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tony Nordgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 55th minute Dag Bagge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Queiroz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fluminense di Parma:s Gilberto Queiroz showed great skill when he stopped Björn Lövskog:s penalty. Fluminense di Parma's Belmiro Bueno got his second yellow card of the match in the 65th minute. The referee ordered Belmiro Bueno off the ground. In the 66th minute, Belmiro Bueno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 67 minutes into the match, Fluminense di Parma's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Jakobsson came free, but Gilberto Queiroz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Fluminense di Parma getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Cafu Esteves hit a great ball. Björn Lövskog might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilberto Queiroz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Björn Lövskog ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Hockeysnubbarnas BK's zone, Flávio Vaz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Egon Eliasson came out of the goal and Flávio Vaz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Dudu Prata took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Egon Eliasson to make any attempt to save it. Fluminense di Parma's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
