The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adhemar da Fonseca during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Adhemar da Fonseca had several of the Real Madrid de Guatemala's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 33 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Shawn Cruz as he didn't even see the shot coming. Wambalamba FC's Naldo Mello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julio Villacorta in the 37th minute of play. The supporters of Wambalamba FC booed when Real Madrid de Guatemala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Baptista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dinei Goiano struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Shawn Cruz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wambalamba FC. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Wambalamba FC's goalkeeper Naldo Mello, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Naldo Mello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julio Villacorta in the 48th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

53 minutes into the match, Ivan Ramos dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Naldo Mello, 3-1. Shawn Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hamílton Campidelis, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Dinei Goiano took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Shawn Cruz. Shawn Cruz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Real Madrid de Guatemala made a substitution. Miguel Castillo replaced Primitivo Ruiz. Real Madrid de Guatemala's Rolando Ortiz was substituted for Ivan Ramos. In the 63rdth minute of the game Julio Villacorta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wambalamba FC's Naldo Mello was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dinei Goiano kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. If Sarbelio Mendez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonel Couto hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Wambalamba FC's Hamílton Campidelis got a free kick in the 90th minute. 94 minutes into the game, Henry Baptista was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Real Madrid de Guatemala's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wambalamba FC the free kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the Real Madrid de Guatemala players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
