The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 minutes, Jorge Fernández mouthed his way into the referee's book. When Francesco Morris came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Flamengo de San Blás fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francesco Morris couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Francesco Morris in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Naldo Mello saved Wambalamba FC from getting behind. Christian De Gracia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Naldo Mello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Flamengo de San Blás's Jorge Fernández sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Naldo Mello narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 25th minute Dinei Goiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgardo Murillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Naldo Mello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Zambrano in the 27th minute of the match. Leonel Couto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Edgardo Murillo made a huge save. In the 31st minute, Francesco Morris left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Flamengo de San Blás fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Wambalamba FC's Naldo Mello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francesco Morris in the 35th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ulpiano De Gracia got free with Naldo Mello in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
