Spectators: 7496 (Terracing: 5623, Seating: 1724, VIP seats: 149) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Franklin Smith took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a rather tough play, Buenaventura FC's Romel Torrijos got a free kick in the 11th minute. Alejandro Lao kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. J.P. Marion showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rolando Pinilla in the 19th minute of the match. Buenaventura FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Felipe Gil in the 20th minute. The corner led Buenaventura FC's Felipe Gil to fire away a dangerous shot which J.P. Marion despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. A collision led to C. A. Independiente getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Boyd Ashley hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in C. A. Independiente's zone, Alejandro Lao stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. J.P. Marion came out of the goal and Alejandro Lao tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Franklin Smith had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Rolando Pinilla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Joe Oberto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roy Huston, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. If Franklin Smith had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, C. A. Independiente's Todd Ogden got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roy Huston to make the kick off. In the 63rd match minute, C. A. Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oswaldo Acosta to maneuver through the defense. J.P. Marion showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toto Pinilla in the 64th minute of the match. Weldon Morrow recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joe Oberto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Weldon Morrow, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joe Oberto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdinand Bauer in the 71st minute of the match. Roy Huston took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joe Oberto. Joe Oberto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Joe Oberto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roy Huston, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. In the 82nd minute Boyd Ashley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joe Oberto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Buenaventura FC's Joe Oberto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oswaldo Acosta in the 87th minute of play. 88 minutes into the game, Franklin Smith was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Buenaventura FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C. A. Independiente the free kick. Franklin Smith kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. C. A. Independiente fully deserved thier win.
