The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Pombal 2003 F.C.'s zone, John Larsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilson Arósio came out of the goal and John Larsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 20th minute Bruno Lago shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Magne Axelsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Finninge Fotboll's Magne Axelsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Lago in the 54th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bruno Lago in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Magne Axelsson saved Finninge Fotboll from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Pombal 2003 F.C.'s Bruno Lago got a free kick in the 60th minute. Toninho Duarte's late challenge caught a Finninge Fotboll's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Toninho Duarte helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Finninge Fotboll booed when Pombal 2003 F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toninho Duarte didn't get a good kick on the ball. Karl-Åke Jakobsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bruno Lago struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Magne Axelsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pombal 2003 F.C.. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Lago in the 70th minute of play forced Finninge Fotboll's goalkeeper Magne Axelsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 71 minutes Finninge Fotboll's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rodolfo de Carvalho who took care of the corner kick. After 73 minutes, Vilgot Nilsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Finninge Fotboll and the Pombal 2003 F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 73 played minutes Finninge Fotboll got a freekick which was hit by Vilgot Nilsson. When Lino Proença fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pombal 2003 F.C.'s protests and gave Lino Proença a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Pombal 2003 F.C. getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Lino Proença hit a great ball. 84 minutes into the match, Cícero Ribeiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Magne Axelsson. Finninge Fotboll's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cícero Ribeiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Magne Axelsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruno Lago in the 88th minute of the match. Magne Axelsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno Lago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Pombal 2003 F.C. had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
