The referee ignored Argentinos Juniors's protests and gave Marcelino Laffitte a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Argentinos Juniors booed when Maverick Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edu Tande didn't get a good kick on the ball. The wind increased when Timoteo Gonzo made the kick off in the second half. Argentinos Juniors were furious when Silvio Berdoi was red carded, 52 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Argentinos Juniors fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 51st minute. Penalty! Enrique Vidallé had in the 54thth minute some difficulties stopping Sérgio Dante's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After a rather tough play, Argentinos Juniors's Timoteo Gonzo got a free kick in the 55th minute. 57 minutes into the match, Argentinos Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Vander came free, but Enrique Vidallé reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Enrique Vidallé showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eurico Mazza, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Sérgio Dante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Vidallé having to interfere. A wasted opportunity for Maverick Futebol Clube. 81 minutes into the match, Argentinos Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Sérgio Dante came free, but Enrique Vidallé reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Edu Tande came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Maverick Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edu Tande couldn't finish the play. 83 minutes into the game, Severiano Mikeldi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Argentinos Juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Maverick Futebol Clube the free kick. Argentinos Juniors's Enrique Vidallé played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Vander in the 95th minute of play. Fabian Teofilio charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabian Teofilio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 96 played minutes Argentinos Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Teofilio. For all the effort they put into the match, the Argentinos Juniors players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Maverick Futebol Clube.
