In the 36th minute Danilo Vasconcelos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcelo Alves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emerson Costa in the 37th minute of play. In the 41st minute of the match Geraldo Aguiar shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcelo Alves showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Geraldo Aguiar was the one to do the kick off. Tiaguinho Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Marcelo Alves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Mayhem Sharks's Marcelo Alves got control of the ball when Emerson Costa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marcelo Alves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emerson Costa in the 65th minute.
