The Sporting de Gijón fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. If Brian Aguirre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute, FORTALEZA's Boris Liahnovich ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ariel Urbasa. Ariel Urbasa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Kevin Zenón hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. When Patap Zinovik fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FORTALEZA's protests and gave Patap Zinovik a yellow card for diving instead. In the 26th match minute, FORTALEZA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patap Zinovik to maneuver through the defense. Sporting de Gijón's Ariel Urbasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boris Liahnovich in the 30th minute of play. With an all-out effort, FORTALEZA's Ariel Urbasa threw himself towards the right post 32 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Boris Liahnovich, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Branislav Murashko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Ariel Urbasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Blas Urdin's late challenge caught a FORTALEZA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Branislav Murashko stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The Sporting de Gijón players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
