In the 29th minute, Ernesto Pereira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ulises Bastian was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Filomeno Firme might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Oscar Saldanha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Filomeno Firme ran back to his position shaking his head. If Alexsandro Britto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 45th minute, Ciro Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th match minute, AZURDUY F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Beremundo to maneuver through the defense. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Squadra Demarchi eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
