After 9 played minutes Desportiva Paulo Afonso got a freekick which was hit by José Vítor de Sena. Arne Ahlqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Garcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Renatinho Braga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Arne Ahlqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 16 minutes, Francisco Garcia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Desportiva Paulo Afonso's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Garcia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bennis's Arne Ahlqvist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Bennis from getting a goal against them. Arne Ahlqvist didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Francisco Garcia went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. 33 minutes into the match, Bennis's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Garcia came free, but Arne Ahlqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Desportiva Paulo Afonso's Francisco Garcia in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francisco Garcia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Francisco Garcia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arne Ahlqvist was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. When Elivélton Maia came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Desportiva Paulo Afonso fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elivélton Maia couldn't finish the play. Sílvio Luís Lucas kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Olavo Vasconcelos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Olle Berggren in the 68th minute. The audience was convinced that Francisco Garcia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arne Ahlqvist was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. In the 91st minute Francisco Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arne Ahlqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 93 minutes into the game, Desportiva Paulo Afonso's Francisco Garcia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arne Ahlqvist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-1. Desportiva Paulo Afonso were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
