After a rather tough play, Sheep United's Gert Jan Moek got a free kick in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Salomon Buffet in the 23rd minute of play forced Sheep United's goalkeeper Lennart Koekkoek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Sheep United's goal looked a bit too open when Faudel Langlois came free, but Lennart Koekkoek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Éluard Coulomb made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martijn van Alst in the 39th minute of play. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When Stephan van Veldhuizen fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sheep United's protests and gave Stephan van Veldhuizen a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of FC Saubrigues booed when Sheep United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stephan van Veldhuizen didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Sheep United's Lennart Koekkoek got control of the ball when Salomon Buffet tried to sneak it across the goal line.
