Astillero del Guayas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vlashers the free kick. After a rather tough play, Astillero del Guayas's Videl Amaya got a free kick in the 10th minute. Corozo Nevares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dacian Cara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Astillero del Guayas booed when Vlashers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shefki Vladavić didn't get a good kick on the ball. Corozo Nevares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Shefki Vladavić's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. When Omar Gayo came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Astillero del Guayas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Omar Gayo couldn't finish the play. The referee ignored Astillero del Guayas's protests and gave Zarbonin Aenlle a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Astillero del Guayas getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Zarbonin Aenlle hit a great ball. 43 minutes into the match, Vlashers's goal looked a bit too open when Omar Gayo came free, but Narcis Popete reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Shefki Vladavić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Shefki Vladavić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Corozo Nevares having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Shefki Vladavić's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Corozo Nevares was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Florin Corocăescu kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Videl Amaya got his second yellow card in the match during the 78th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. For all the effort they put into the match, the Astillero del Guayas players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Vlashers.
