Victoriano Fortuño recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Täpäl Arco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Omar Gayo in the 14th minute of the match. After 17 played minutes Carpasús FC - FDC got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Valls. 19 minutes into the game, Juan-Angel Ordax was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Astillero del Guayas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carpasús FC - FDC the free kick. A collision led to Astillero del Guayas getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Juan-Angel Ordax hit a great ball. Arnaldo Ozores could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Corozo Nevares made a huge save. 26 minutes into the game, Omar Gayo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Täpäl Arco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victoriano Fortuño in the 45th minute of play forced Carpasús FC - FDC's goalkeeper Täpäl Arco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Astillero del Guayas were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Victoriano Fortuño made a kick off. Carpasús FC - FDC's Täpäl Arco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Carpasús FC - FDC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaldo Ozores in the 66th minute of play forced Astillero del Guayas's goalkeeper Corozo Nevares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th minute of the game Videl Amaya made a throw-in which Juan-Angel Ordax played forward. 73 minutes into the match, Astillero del Guayas's goal looked a bit too open when Arnaldo Ozores came free, but Corozo Nevares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Täpäl Arco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Videl Amaya in the 75th minute of play. Omar Gayo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Arnaldo Ozores came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Carpasús FC - FDC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnaldo Ozores couldn't finish the play. Arnaldo Ozores struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Corozo Nevares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carpasús FC - FDC. In the 88th minute, Omar Gayo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Täpäl Arco was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. In the 95th match minute, Carpasús FC - FDC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nardo Perera to maneuver through the defense.
