In the 12th minute Gaby Gol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zenaido Urtiaran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14th match minute, GARIBALDI FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eleuterio Ulizes to maneuver through the defense. Zenaido Urtiaran didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Israel Indar went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to Montevideo City Torque getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Eduino Lecanda hit a great ball. Zacarias Arnalt was out of position in the 27 minute of play, and Saul Sanabria capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Saul Sanabria really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Lisandro Gauargi hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the GARIBALDI FC defense, Gonzales Alfeiran kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zacarias Arnalt. The GARIBALDI FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zacarias Arnalt should have stopped the shot. In the 37th minute, Angel Cadaval hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 39th minute of the match Gaby Gol shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zenaido Urtiaran showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gaby Gol to strike the kick off in the second half. After 57 played minutes Montevideo City Torque got a freekick which was hit by Demesio Collazo. Eduino Lecanda's late challenge caught a GARIBALDI FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
