In the 4th minute, Gaby Gol left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GARIBALDI FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 9th match minute, Montevideo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonardo Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. Ruy Loureiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eleuterio Ulizes's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eleuterio Ulizes in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ruy Loureiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Silvano Txerran kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the game, GARIBALDI FC's Eleuterio Ulizes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ruy Loureiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. The audience was convinced that Eleuterio Ulizes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ruy Loureiro was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. The supporters of GARIBALDI FC booed when Montevideo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Deivid Vinhas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Agostinho Senna might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabian Quin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agostinho Senna ran back to his position shaking his head. If Leonardo Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ruy Loureiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaby Gol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Montevideo's Ruy Loureiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvano Txerran in the 36th minute of play. Bruninho Trigo hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Ruy Loureiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaby Gol, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. The Montevideo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ruy Loureiro should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gaby Gol made a kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Montevideo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonardo Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. In the 56th minute Gaby Gol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruy Loureiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 59 minutes, Edgard Matteo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GARIBALDI FC and the Montevideo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Montevideo's Ruy Loureiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eustaquio Casado in the 69th minute of play. Lisandro Gauargi hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 77th minute of the match Tadeu Correia shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fabian Quin showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, GARIBALDI FC's Lisandro Gauargi got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 90th minute Agostinho Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Quin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ruy Loureiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eleuterio Ulizes in the 91st minute of play. Fabian Quin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agostinho Senna went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. In the 96th minute, Agostinho Senna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The GARIBALDI FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
